Rwanda Receives First Fuel Shipment Under New Kenya Deal

Rwanda has officially started using the Port of Mombasa as a major route for its petroleum imports after the arrival of a 40,000-tonne fuel shipment under a new government-to-government agreement with Kenya. The shipment aboard MT Sea Wolf at Kipevu Oil Terminal included gasoline and gasoil destined for Rwanda, marking the activation of a new supply route through the Northern Corridor. The ceremony took place on September 29, with officials from both countries, and aims to boost Kenya's role as a regional logistics hub while increasing petroleum transit volumes, projected to exceed 500,000 cubic meters annually.
