Rwanda has signed a 10-year agreement with Formula 1 to host a Grand Prix starting in the early 2030s, bringing the championship back to Africa for the first time since 1993. The race will take place on a purpose-built circuit in Bugesera, near Kigali, designed by former F1 driver Alex Wurz, Tilke, and DAR. President Paul Kagame stated that the project would generate economic opportunities, employment, tourism, and skills development, aiming for long-term benefits for Rwanda.
