SACCOs Required to Adopt Technology & Shared Services as New Licensing Conditions

All Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs) in Kenya will now be required to adopt digital systems and integrate technology as a new condition for obtaining a licence. Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya announced that this directive aims to improve transparency and efficiency in SACCO operations. Additionally, proposed reforms include strengthening the oversight authority and measures to protect members' savings.
