Safaricom in early payment of Sh46bn dividend

Safaricom has begun paying shareholders a final dividend of Sh46.08 billion ahead of the official payment date of September 4. This dividend, approved at the July 31 annual general meeting, amounts to Sh1.15 per share, bringing the total annual dividend to Sh2 per share. This record payout follows a 37.2% increase in net profit to Sh95.6 billion for the year ending March 2026, driven by strong M-Pesa earnings.
