The municipal authorities of Saint-Louis paid tribute to Ismaïla Sarr, the Crystal Palace winger who is the only Senegalese player ranked in the Top 50 of the 2026 World Cup by The Atlantic magazine. Sarr, ranked 27th, scored four goals and provided one assist during the tournament, despite Senegal's elimination in the round of 16 against Belgium (3-2). The tribute, initiated by deputy mayor for sports Lamine Ndiaye, praised the player as an inspiration for youth and a pride for the city.
