Saint-Pierre-des-Corps: an urban rodeo escalates, the custody of the injured policeman reignites controversy

A policeman was taken into custody in Tours after hitting a motorcyclist during an urban rodeo in Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, leading to clashes between residents and law enforcement. The violence lasted until 4 a.m., resulting in several vehicles being set on fire. Five individuals were arrested for participating in a gathering with concealed faces. This neighborhood has previously experienced similar violence, notably following the death of Nahel Merzouk in July 2023.
