Samsung and the National Department of Basic Education crown 2026 'Solve for Tomorrow' STEM-based competition champions

On October 2, 2026, Samsung South Africa, in partnership with the National Department of Basic Education, announced the winners of the 2026 'Solve for Tomorrow' STEM competition. Three public schools were awarded: Cape Recife High School for their prototype turning plastic waste into sports equipment, Mbilwi Secondary School for their project converting pollution into low-cost construction materials, and Sekete IV Secondary School for their waste management solution. The event took place in Centurion with dignitaries including Samsung Africa's CEO and the Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube.
