South Africa's new Electronic Travel Authorisation system has already identified and rejected over 6 000 fraudulent applications. The system, designed to screen eligible travellers before they enter the country, aims to modernise immigration controls and strengthen border security. Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber said the system is already effective in identifying fraudulent applications. Legitimate travellers will also be able to apply digitally for a 90-day extension of their stay.
