Saudi Arabia approves additional 10,000 Hajj slots for Nigeria

Nigeria’s Hajj quota for 2027 has increased to 60,000 pilgrims following the approval of an additional 10,000 slots by Saudi authorities. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) announced the increase, secured through ongoing discussions between the Nigerian government and Saudi Arabia. Of these new slots, 7,500 will go to state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards, agencies, and commissions, while 2,500 are reserved for seven lead tour operators. NAHCON Chairman Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf described the increase as a sign of strong cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia to facilitate the pilgrimage.
