School Return in Kinshasa: A Timid Comeback of Students at Sainte Theresia Primary School in Luzizila (Mont-Ngafula)

The school year began on September 1, 2026, at Sainte Theresia Primary School in Luzizila, with only about ten students present out of more than 500 enrolled. Teachers, of whom only nine are state-paid, prepared unfinished classrooms. Director Jacques Mfulu called for the regularization of unpaid teachers and highlighted the school's challenges, including a lack of infrastructure and school supplies.
