SEC commences nationwide campaign to recover unclaimed dividends

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria has launched a nationwide enlightenment campaign to help investors recover unclaimed dividends and other funds from capital market transactions. The campaign started with a town hall meeting in Lagos, aiming to sensitize investors about unclaimed monies, the role of the National Investor Protection Fund (NIPF), and procedures for verification and claims. SEC Director-General Emomotimi Agama emphasized that unclaimed funds are unacceptable and that the outreach will cover all six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory.
