Sponsored by Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, the bill aims to improve healthcare access, particularly in rural and underserved communities, reduce waiting times through digital appointment systems, and strengthen disease surveillance and public health emergency response. Senate President Godswill Akpabio referred the bill to the Senate Committee on Health for further legislative work, with a directive to report back within four weeks.
