The Nigerian Senate has rejected a motion for an independent investigation into the controversy involving the Presidency and Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly presented himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council. Senate President Godswill Akpabio ruled that the matter is sub judice and that President Tinubu had already directed the ICPC to investigate. Senator Suleiman Kawu argued for the Senate's oversight role. A Federal High Court ordered Adeyemi's arrest on charges of forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
