Senate mourns former Delta State Governor Uduaghan

Nigeria’s Senate paid tribute to former Delta State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, who died on 19 October 2026, three days before his 72nd birthday. Senators observed a minute of silence and offered condolences to his family, the Itsekiri people and residents of Delta State. They urged the state government to preserve records of public programmes and development initiatives from his 2007–2015 administration. A trained medical doctor, Uduaghan served as state commissioner for health and secretary to the state government before becoming governor.
