Senate Summons Governor Anyang' Nyong’o Over Alleged Breakdown in Kisumu Municipal Governance

Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o has been summoned by the Senate Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations Committee due to a governance crisis within municipal boards. The chairs of the boards reported a breakdown in relations with the County Executive, claiming it controls the boards systematically. They also stated that their boards receive only 30-40 percent of their approved budgets, crippling their ability to implement essential urban projects.
