Senator Dafinone, ex-Delta SSG Ukah not on derailed train, NRC clarifies

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has clarified that Senator Ede Dafinone and former Delta State Secretary to the State Government, Patrick Ukah, were not among the passengers on the Warri-Itakpe train that derailed near Agbor on Monday. According to the NRC, both men arrived after the incident and helped mobilize emergency responders. The clarification follows an erroneous statement from the Federal Ministry of Transportation. Discrepancies exist over casualty figures: the ministry reports four deaths, while the NRC reports three. Investigations are ongoing.
