Senegal: Electoral Code Adopted, Final Step for President Diomaye

On May 9, the Senegalese National Assembly adopted the law amending the Electoral Code, following a new deliberation requested by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. The text received 127 votes in favor, 5 against, and zero abstentions. The president has two days to promulgate the law, or else the President of the National Assembly may intervene according to the Constitution. This amendment will govern the organization of elections in Senegal.
