Senegal: Electoral Code Returned for Second Reading in National Assembly

On May 8, the President of the Senegal National Assembly announced that the Head of State requested a new deliberation on the law amending the Electoral Code due to a material error. Two versions of the text were sent, leading to a formal discrepancy. The law, adopted in the first reading on April 28 with 128 votes in favor, will be submitted for a second reading next week, requiring at least 99 votes to be promulgated.
