Senegal: Football Federation Blames World Cup Failure on Coach

The Senegalese Football Federation fired coach Pape Thiaw after the Lions of Teranga were eliminated in the round of 16 of the World Cup by Belgium. According to president Abdoulaye Fall, a salary dispute caused a breakdown in trust: Thiaw reportedly demanded a raise from 20 to 50 million CFA francs per month before the tournament.
