Senegal: Opposition Maintains Debate on Sonko's Reintegration into the National Assembly

Opposition deputies filed a petition with the Constitutional Council challenging the reintegration of Ousmane Sonko into the National Assembly. Sonko, dismissed as Prime Minister on May 22, was elected president of the Assembly on May 26. Expert Alioune Souaré believes the petition may have a different outcome, citing Article 54 of the Constitution.
