Senegal: Opposition Maintains Debate on Sonko's Reintegration into the National Assembly

Opposition deputies filed a petition with the Constitutional Council challenging the reintegration of Ousmane Sonko into the National Assembly. Sonko, dismissed as Prime Minister on May 22, was elected president of the Assembly on May 26. Expert Alioune Souaré believes the petition may have a different outcome, citing Article 54 of the Constitution. Meanwhile, journalist Madiambal Ndiaye accused Sonko of meeting a council member, a claim rejected by the Pastef party.

Governor Yusuf reshuffles special advisers in major Kano government reorganisation

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved a major reshuffle of his special advisers, scrapping the positions of Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs and Special Adviser on Liaison Offices in Abuja.
