Senegal: Trade Balance Shows Surplus of 160 Billion CFA Francs in August 2026

According to ANSD, Senegal's trade balance recorded a surplus of 160 billion CFA francs in August 2026, up from 62.1 billion in July. Exports reached 711.1 billion CFA, a 6.4% increase, while imports decreased by 9.1% to 551.1 billion CFA. The surplus is mainly driven by increased exports of hydrocarbons, including refined petroleum products, phosphoric acid, and phosphates, as well as improved trade balances with countries such as Mali, the Netherlands, Italy, and Nigeria.
