Serena, Venus Williams fall in thrilling return to US Open doubles

Sisters Serena and Venus Williams made their return to the US Open women's doubles but were eliminated by Chan Hao-ching and Maya Joint in three sets. Despite a strong performance, particularly from Serena at the net, they lost 6-3, 6-7 (6/8), 7-6 (10/7). Venus, 46, and Serena, 44, had not played together in Grand Slam doubles since 2022.
