During the reception, he affirmed her religious affiliation to the Mouride brotherhood and legitimized her visit by invoking the memory of his father. He opened the doors of his home to Sokhna Aïda, stating that it concerns no one, in response to internal opposition. This stance contrasts with the official line of the general caliph of the Mourides, who had distanced Sokhna Aïda since 2019.
