Two trains collided near Giza, Egypt, derailing several carriages and killing at least seven people while injuring more than 100. Authorities said a train bound for Fayoum struck the rear of a stationary train travelling from Cairo to Aswan; the driver of one train was among those killed. Rescue operations continued as rail services between Giza and Upper Egypt were suspended, and prosecutors warned that the death toll could rise. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ordered an investigation, while the disaster prompted renewed calls for the transport minister to resign.
