SHA Warns Hospitals as New Contract Rules Take Effect From October 1

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has warned healthcare providers that their current contracts will expire on September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Mercy Mwangangi, SHA CEO, urged providers to apply for new contracts before the deadline to continue serving SHA beneficiaries. Facilities without a valid contract for the 2026–2029 cycle will be barred from providing services, and their portal access will be disabled. The new contracting cycle, called HAKIKA, runs from October 1, 2026, to June 30, 2029, with an electronic platform launched to streamline the process.
