Shelter Afrique to float Sh65billion bond in Q1 2027

Shelter Afrique, a pan-African housing-focused development bank, plans to issue a $500 million (approximately Sh64.83 billion) sustainability-linked bond in East Africa in the first quarter of 2027. The multi-currency bond will be issued in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Shelter Afrique CEO Thierno-Habib Hann stated that the bank is mobilizing resources from local markets and has already issued about 60 billion CFA francs in West Africa to finance housing projects.
