A ferry named MV Chambo exploded in flames and sank in Lake Nyasa (also known as Lake Malawi) in Tanzania, killing three passengers of different nationalities: a Tanzanian man, a Malawian woman, and a Mozambican girl. The incident occurred in the Ruvuma region early on October 11, 2026, while the vessel was traveling from Tanzania to Mozambique.
