SNEL Warns of Metal Angle Theft on the Inga-Shaba Line in Kasaï-Central

SNEL has warned of a rise in thefts of metal angle supports that reinforce pylons along the Inga-Shaba power line, particularly in Tshibambula, about 25 kilometres from Kananga. Provincial director Joseph Kabandi says the thefts weaken the pylons and could cause them to collapse, interrupting both electricity transmission and the fibre-optic network. A disruption to this strategic line could affect power supplies to the Grand Katanga region, including mining companies.
