Soda ash and gold top royalty earnings after Base Titanium exit

Soda ash, gold and salt generated Kenya’s largest mineral royalty earnings in the 2025/26 financial year, ending more than a decade of dominance by titanium ore. Kenya exported minerals worth Sh22.54 billion and collected Sh592.34 million in royalties. Both figures fell from the previous year, when exports were valued at Sh27.91 billion and royalties amounted to Sh947 million.
