Soko (Bondoukou): A 16-year-old boy is tortured to death over a money dispute and the suspect flees

Kobenan Yao Richard, a 16-year-old boy, died during the night of October 9-10, 2026, in Soko, Bondoukou, after severe physical abuse related to a financial dispute. The main suspect, Abou Ouattara, accused of stealing about 30,000 FCFA from him, fled after holding him captive for several hours and violently torturing him. Richard's body was found behind his father's house, tied up and beaten, especially on the feet. His family, the only child among four siblings, is deeply mourning his sudden death.
