Sokoto defends metropolis-only school resumption

The Sokoto State Government defended its decision to reopen only schools within the state capital, stating that the closure of schools outside the metropolis is a security measure. Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Muhammad Ladan Ala, explained that schools in the metropolis, including Kware, Dange-Shuni, Wamakko, Sokoto North, and Sokoto South, are operational while others remain closed pending further directives. He emphasized that the safety of students is paramount and community-based surveillance initiatives are being implemented.
