Sokoto govt adopts tougher strategy to tackle banditry

Sokoto State governor, Ahmad Aliyu, announced a renewed, tougher security strategy to combat banditry and facilitate the return of displaced residents. He stated that this more robust approach is already showing positive results, with operations in Rabah, Tureta, and Kebbe Local Government Areas leading to the rescue of kidnapped victims and the recovery of thousands of stolen livestock. Aliyu emphasized that providing armored vehicles and operational equipment will further strengthen security efforts and urged residents to cooperate with security agencies to restore lasting peace.
