Sokoto govt shuts mosque, orders probe into attack

The Sokoto State Government has ordered the immediate closure of Sheikh Musa Ayuba Lukuwa Mosque in Mabera following an alleged attack on the cleric. A full-scale investigation has been initiated into the attack and the killing of the suspected assailant, with a warning against any lawlessness under religious pretext. A committee of Ulamas has been formed to examine the causes of recent tensions in the metropolis and advise the government on appropriate measures.
