Fighting between government forces and opposition militias paralyzed parts of Mogadishu for more than two days, leaving at least 13 dead and 189 wounded, according to the UN. The government declared the districts of Abdiaziz and Hawlwadag calm and said militias had been disarmed. The violence stems from a dispute over President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud's term extension, which the opposition calls a power grab. The clashes began near the home of former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire and spread to the residence of former President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
