“Some have no intention of voting for Infantino”: CAF’s FIFA election bloc falls apart

CAF has officially announced that all 54 African federations support Gianni Infantino’s bid for re-election as FIFA president in 2027. Speaking on RMC’s After Foot, Claude Le Roy said several African presidents dispute that position and that some do not intend to vote for Infantino. He stressed that each federation can decide for itself, while noting that his remarks do not establish how many will vote against the FIFA president. A Sport News Africa investigation had previously reported that several federations and one regional union had neither approved nor signed a letter of support.
