Sosucam: 99.1 billion FCFA losses in six years… figures illustrating Somdia's disengagement

From 2020 to 2025, Cameroon Sugar Company (Sosucam), controlled by Somdia, accumulated approximately 99.1 billion FCFA in losses, never returning to profitability. Somdia converted over 34 billion FCFA of receivables into equity over two years and increased provisions to cover its exposure to Sosucam. In August 2026, an agreement was reached to sell its stake in the Cameroonian subsidiary, indicating a gradual disengagement.
