South Africa: Foreigner Beaten to Death by 50 People

In Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, a passerby estimated to be 30 to 40 years old was violently attacked by around 50 people on Thursday and died at the scene. His identity and nationality have not been officially released. Police have opened a murder investigation, and five men were taken to a police station on Friday for questioning about several violent incidents, including the killing. The attack comes amid protests against irregular immigration and violence in Durban on October 8, when at least 14 vehicles were set on fire.
