South Africa hammer Australia as Harmer takes career-best bowling figures

South Africa beat Australia by 176 runs in the third Test at Newlands to win the series 2-1, following an innings-and-31-run victory in the second match. Chasing 288, Australia managed only 111, while Simon Harmer recorded career-best match figures of 10-120. Australian captain Pat Cummins said the back-to-back defeats made questions about the team inevitable and that changes to its style or personnel might be considered. South Africa replaced Australia as the top-ranked Test side in the world.
