South Kivu: About twenty AFC/M23 rebels neutralized during the recapture of Masango and its surroundings

The Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC) have regained control of Masango, Ruhua, and Rubarati after clashes with AFC/M23 rebels and their allies Twirwaneho. During the operation, 23 rebels were neutralized and 11 others surrendered. A mass grave was discovered in Masango, where civilians killed during the occupation by rebel forces are believed to be buried. Fighting continues in the High Plateaus of Fizi, Uvira, and Itombwe.
