Spain says no to NATO in the Strait of Hormuz

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated that the Middle East is _"outside NATO's area of action"_, ruling out any participation of the Alliance in the war against Iran. Spain has closed its airspace to American planes linked to strikes and prohibited access to military bases. Other allies like Germany and Italy have also refused military engagement, while the UK is attempting to form a coalition of over forty countries to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
