Sporting Gagnoa: Kader Keita’s choices of former Ligue 1 players questioned

After five rounds of the 2026–2027 championship, Sporting Club de Gagnoa’s recruitment is drawing scrutiny, particularly following a 5–2 defeat to Don Koff FC. Sporting’s sporting director, Kader Keita, appointed in late July and officially contracted on August 3, 2026, has backed experienced players who previously competed in Côte d’Ivoire’s Ligue 1. The players named include Yann Zébré, Manssou Kouakou, Aka Essis Baudelaire, Dorrassouba Nabyl, Yao Kouamé, Alphonse and Gonazo Bi Ya; several have represented ASEC Mimosas or Africa Sports. Gagnoa is targeting a return to the top flight, but its early results suggest experience alone does not guarantee success.
