State eyes new Sh39 billion loan for stadium upgrades

The government plans to borrow Sh38.74 billion to complete the construction of 33 stadiums across the country. This new loan will be the second under the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund, following the Sh44.8 billion raised for the Raila Odinga Stadium in Nairobi. The projects also include upgrades to the Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadiums in Nairobi in preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
