State Opens Fresh Gold and Precious Metals Exploration Areas Across Six Counties

The government has received new applications from mining companies seeking to explore or extract gold and other precious metals across five counties, including Narok, West Pokot, Homa Bay, Kisii, Migori, and Kitui. In Narok, two applications for gold mining licenses cover approximately 2.65 square kilometers, while another application covers about 321.9 square kilometers in Homa Bay, Kisii, and Migori counties. Members of the public can submit objections to the applications before licenses are granted, with a 21-day period for most applications and a 42-day period for those in Narok.
