State ordered to produce key records in Kenya Pipeline sale

The High Court ordered the Kenyan government to produce key records, including valuation reports, Cabinet memoranda, procurement records, and IMF agreements, in a petition challenging the privatization of Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC). The court rejected the Attorney-General's bid to dismiss the petition and declined to refer the case to a multi-judge bench. The sale of a 65% stake in KPC raised Sh106.3 billion in March 2026. Petitioners, led by Senator Okiya Omtatah, challenge the constitutionality of the privatization and the Privatisation Act, 2025.
