Dimpho Moketedi, a 19-year-old Stellenbosch University student, remains in custody after her bail application was postponed to November 18, 2026, when she failed to appear in court. The prosecutor cited alleged transport problems at Pollsmoor Correctional Services. Moketedi faces attempted murder and arson charges over an October 18 incident at off-campus student accommodation in Cloetesville, where her former boyfriend was allegedly set alight and his room torched. The university confirmed she had been suspended and barred from campus; she had been due to begin examinations on October 27.
