During an appearance on Times TV on Friday, content creator Steve Fah said that the Bamiléké “have no political culture,” prompting controversy in Cameroon. Critics say he unfairly generalized about an entire community and confused voting behavior and party preferences with the broader idea of political culture. Journalist David Atemkeng challenged Fah’s remarks, while critics pointed to the role of people and activists from Cameroon’s West in political struggles from independence to contemporary opposition movements.
