Strait of Hormuz Crisis: What the US Has Gained According to Russian Giant Rosneft

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Igor Sechin, CEO of Rosneft, stated that US oil companies were the main beneficiaries of the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the tensions led to higher oil prices and allowed US exporters to increase deliveries to Asia and Europe. The Strait of Hormuz, through which nearly one-fifth of the world's oil passes, remains a critical chokepoint for energy trade.
