Study backs smartphone-linked brain tests for epilepsy

A portable brain test using a smartphone could help patients suspected of epilepsy access specialized testing closer to home. A study conducted by nine organizations, including the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital, found that 96% of the recordings were clinically interpretable. The portable EEG system, using a flexible cap, allows for rapid results, available within one to two hours.
