Sudan: All Sudanese Students Must Have Equal Opportunity to Sit National Exams Wherever They Are - Unicef

In a statement on June 10, 2026, UNICEF Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa Etleva Kadilli called for all Sudanese children, including those affected by conflict, to be able to sit for national examinations safely and fairly. She emphasized that hundreds of thousands of students have faced years of disruption and that access to a unified exam is essential to ensure fairness, protect the value of qualifications, and avoid divisions that limit future opportunities. Kadilli also urged the government and parties to the conflict to agree on practical modalities to administer exams consistently and safely across Sudan and in countries hosting Sudanese refugees.
