Sudan Anti-War Forces Warn UN Envoy

Representatives of the Declaration of Principles forces met with Pekka Haavisto, the UN secretary-general's personal envoy to Sudan, to discuss the political crisis and efforts to end the war. They expressed concerns that the dialogue proposed by army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan could legitimize existing authorities and entrench division in the country. The anti-war forces emphasized the need for a comprehensive political process that begins with ending the fighting and protecting civilians.
